We absolutely love working with the Healthcare Associate of New York State and are over the moon that they feel the same way!

"Your firm is one of the highest-quality agencies in the area and we are proud to rely on you when the need arises! "  Healthcare Associate of New York State

Thank you!  We look forward to continue to work together and recruit for you whenever needed!

USA Today posted an article about a new "norm" that is happening with the Deptartment of Corrections and their job applicants. Check out the article and check out Miriam's take on social media and its role in the interview process.

Like it or not, social media is here to stay and everyone is using it as another reference on your character.  I am old school, I keep my private life private and separate from my public/work life.  Not that I have anything to hide I just prefer to only let my closest family and friends know when I am going on vacation or when my kids do something funny via Facebook.

But for other generations/demographics entering the workforce they see the world very differently.  From what I have observed…

Staffing Industry Analysts published survey results that 38% of buyers are demanding E-Verify. We have been doing E-Verify on every employee for the past 2 years. For more information on the survery and the original post see below.

Only 38 percent of staffing buyers require staffing firms to use E-Verify,
according to research released by Staffing Industry Analysts. E-Verify is the
U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Internet-based system that uses
information from employees' I-9 forms to determine if they are eligible to work
in the U.S.

Although a minority of the staffing buyers surveyed require E-Verify, buyers
of industrial/logistics/transportation staffing bucked that trend with 78
percent requiring its use.

Does it feel like your job search is going no where? Concerned you keep applying for the same jobs and are not getting any feedback or progress? Watch our Rookie Recruiter's tips on how to freshen up that job search!

Employers requests a complete application on all candidates because a resume is not a legal document and an employment application is.

An employment application asks many questions that are not covered on a resume including, salary of past roles, why a person left a job, availability &  eligibility for work etc.  Employment applications also ask for a signature from the applicant stating the information they provided is true and accurate which a resume does  not accomplish.

At Linium, our clients rely on us to perform the highest level of screening and due diligence on all of our candidates we refer and our employment…

We like to be completely upfront and honest with our candidates throughout the entire hiring process. Any job hunt can seem confusing, get overwhelming and seem unclear of what is to happen next and who is to make the next move. We have compiled a follow up guide for all of our candidates to help navigate you through our process after your initial interview with one of our recruiters. Best of luck!

Follow up: What to expect after today's interview

1.       What happens next?

  •          Depending on the position you are being considered for there could be a series of steps. For example, you may have to do skills testing, interview with our client, drug testing, a background check and/or your references could be checked.  If we do not have any positions currently in alignment with your experience, we'll be in touch as new roles become available.

2.       How do I get referred to a…

We love hearing when candidates are doing great at their new job especially when it is a temporary assignment! Congrats Carmen!

Denise-

I would like to let you know that Carmen is an absolute pleasure to work with.  We were very lucky to have her with us this week.  Carmen assumed the receptionist duties as though she had been here forever.  If we are in need again, I shall certainly request her.

Thank you.

Patricia

The update below was published in the ASA Staffing Newsletter, too good not to share!. Great insight on unemployment and social media and how the government is taking an approach very similar to ours on coaching candidates and helping them find jobs - you can never have too many resources!

With the unemployment rate still at 9%, the White House and the U.S. Department of Labor have reinforced their focus on putting Americans back to work. Labor Secretary Hilda L. Solis recently announced an innovative partnership between DOL, Facebook, and several employment organizations to help job seekers find employment through social media.

The Social Jobs Partnership is a Facebook fan page with links to career resources such as guidance on writing résumés, tips on interviewing, and a Web…

Nothing starts a Monday off on the right foot like getting some amazing emails from our employees! We love that they enjoy the little things that we do for them and we hope that they know we think of them like extensions of our own team. Afterall we interact with our employees all the time (even though they are working for our clients)!

Good morning! I just want to say "THANK YOU" for the birthday card and lottery ticket. You go above and beyond for a temp agency. Thank you! - Connie

Thank you.  I have enjoyed working with Linium. This was the first time working with an agency.  I was very impressed with the PTO and health benefits. You have all been very helpful anytime I had questions.  Actually I am going to miss emailing you. -  Joyce

There are so many resources for HR professionals out there that keeping up with them and all the publications is a full time job in itself. We try to stay on top of it all and we do find some lovely nuggets to share. Check this article out from ASA Staffing Weekly's Newsletter - IT is where it's happening

Hiring Managers Seek IT Employees

Hiring managers say they're planning to add temporary employees to fill information technology positions, according to one survey.

The most recent TEKsystems IT Executive Outlook survey polled nearly 3,000 IT leaders from various industries, regions, and company sizes. Among respondents, 40% of IT leaders say they expect to add IT temporary employees in the next three months, up slightly from 36% in the previous quarter's survey. The survey is conducted…

We work really well as a team here at Linium and when one of us gets praise, we like to think that we all get a pat on the back. James, an employee of ours, sent the best note to me this morning! Check it out...

"I really want to state that it has been great working with you.  You do a great job from my standpoint.  It made my work easier knowing you were there doing your thing so well.  Thank you very much.  It has been a professional pleasure." - James

Spreading a little birthday cheer is so much fun in our office.

We like to take care of our candidates that we place with our incredible clients, but we also take care of our own! When I got this note from Dawn, it made me and the whole Staffing team smile!

Please share my sincere thanks with everyone up there!  Such a sweet gesture and a surprise too!  I am sure to have a happy birthday with such a nice kick off :)
